Work on The Acadian Seafarer

 

The MV Acadian Seafarer was built by Halter Marine in 1979 with the dimensions 217′ x 44′ x 16′ The vessel is Diesel Electric with 7,200 Shp. a 650 hp. Bow Thruster and is capable of a speed of 13 knots.

Auxiliary power Detroit diesel 8V71 connected to 150kw generator.

Power is supplied by five (5) 1,200 hp. Detroit Diesel 16V149 series naturally aspirated engines. The engines are electric started using two high torque 24VDC started motors per engine supplied by a bank of eight (8), six (6) cell 24V Lead Acid Batteries, which are continuously charged by a LaMarche constavolt system.

A Tour of The Former SSI Facility in Southeastern CT

Stapleton Steel, Inc., in Southeastern Ct, was a fully-equipped operation with a 5,585 sq.ft. shop, a 1,115 sq.ft. mezzanine and 1,115 sq.ft. class B office. The shop had four overhead cranes (5-Ton, two 2-Ton, 1-Ton) and one jib crane and a 15’ x 14’ overhead door. Our machinery included:
